So why CrossFit?
CrossFit teens is a strength and conditioning program designed for 13-17 year old athletes and non-athletes alike. Our program combines age-appropriate weightlifting and gymnastics with high intensity training for optimal fitness and performance and to establish a lifetime love of fitness. The three main areas teens participating in this program will benefit are listed below.
CrossFit is great for young adults, because of the wide variety of disciplines it involves, from weightlifting to callisthenics to gymnastics. Teenagers brains are like sponges, always searching to make neurological connections and adaptations. The connections are made in response to stimuli; the more stimuli we expose our youth to, the more connections and adaptations they can make and retain for the remainder of their adult lives. CrossFit develops young adults on an emotional level, developing and supporting qualities such as sportsmanship, leadership, teamwork, listening skills, self discipline and manners. Fitness as a Lifestyle
Teens who participate in our CrossFit program are instilled with the value of fitness as a lifestyle choice. We discuss important nutritional choices for a balanced lifestyle and these choices become natural and normal. Fitness is about fun and enjoyment within the program and the results they receive therefore come as a bi-product.
At our affiliate, we currently have a teen program running with great success as teens train alongside their parents and three of our teens have competed on a national level in their sport.
